Let’s face it—

the creature we most resemble 

is the Proboscis Monkey,

one of Nature’s jokes.

The one most like us

by inclination

is the hypersexual,

violent Chimpanzee.

But we are smart as hell

with a capital H

and can be beautiful,

despite our funny ears.

I’m proud to be human,

and so should you be.
